Dr Ivan Aleksic BVSc., MANZCVS – small animal medicine – is a partner and Veterinarian at CareVets Chartwell.
Ivan came to New Zealand from Serbia in 1996 with his wife Gordana.  They have since had 2 children.

Ivan continued his special interest in Small Animal Medicine by completing a membership examination in the field of small animal medicine with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.
Over a period Ivan has had extensive training in Australia and the US in small animal ultrasound (cardiac and abdominal). He has completed training in the UK on the surgical management of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures in dogs as well as patellar luxation.  These new methods are now routinely performed at the Chartwell clinic.

Ivan also pioneered stemcell treatment in animals with osteoarthritis and other diseases which could benefit from stemcell treatment.

He also has a cat called Denny Crane.
