Our Team:
Sam’s passion for veterinary practice is rooted in a deep love for all living things. She shares her home with her husband, a local logging truck driver, their daughters, and a wonderfully chaotic extended family of animals. All eight of her cats and three dogs are rescues or foster animals, reflecting her lifelong commitment to giving vulnerable pets a second chance.
Sam enjoys the challenge of complex cases, taking a methodical approach to diagnostics and working toward the best possible outcomes. She is also passionate about preventative care, wellness, and building meaningful connections with clients, understanding the profound bond people share with their pets.
Outside of work, Sam embraces a colourful life filled with creativity. Her home and garden are alive with vibrant plants, birds, and insects, alongside her own artistic projects — reflecting the same curiosity and care she brings to her veterinary work each day.
Claire graduated from Massey University in 2014 and has had a lifelong love of animals, both big and small. After a brief stint working in the share market, she realised her true passion was working with animals and pursued a career in veterinary medicine.
Based in Rotorua, Claire enjoys mountain biking through the forest whenever she can and tending to her quarter-acre garden filled with fruit, vegetables, and flowers. She shares her busy home life with her two children, three cats, and two very large goldfish.
Claire brings a friendly, empathetic, and holistic approach to her work, grounded in evidence-based care, and is deeply committed to the wellbeing of every animal she treats.
Shani is an experienced veterinarian who graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences.
Shani moved to New Zealand eight years ago with her husband and their two sons. Outside of work, she enjoys kitesurfing, surfing, and spending quality time at the beach with her family.
Michaela has been a valued member of the Cameron Road Vets team since graduating with her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. She brings a warm and compassionate approach to her work, enjoying the opportunity to care for both pets and the people who love them. She especially enjoys looking after the cats and dogs who visit the clinic, always striving to make their experience as calm and comfortable as possible. Outside of work, Michaela loves spending time with her young son and making the most of the outdoors—whether it’s hiking or horse riding.
Georgia joined our team in 2024 and is currently studying toward her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. She brings a warm and nurturing presence to our hospital ward, where she focuses on making sure each patient feels safe, loved, and well cared for during their stay. Georgia finds it especially rewarding to watch unwell pets recover and return home to their families. Outside of work, she enjoys keeping active at the gym and spending time with her two cheeky cats, Oscar and Titten.
Abby joined the Cameron Road Vets team after qualifying with her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2024. Passionate about animal welfare, she particularly enjoys collaborating with the SPCA and working alongside a dedicated team to make a real difference in the lives of animals. Abby loves every opportunity to care for her patients and support their wellbeing. Outside of work, she spends her time with her beloved dog, Kodak—a pony-sized companion who always keeps her on her toes.
