Dr Tarien Herbst

Tarien qualified in 2010 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She immigrated to New Zealand in 2019 and quickly found herself at home at CareVets in Oratia. Tarien has a special interest in general surgery and procedures.

Tania
Clinic Coordinator

Tania joined the team in March 2020 as Clinic Coordinator and comes from over 20 years of front of house experience. She has a huge love of animals and being part of the health and general wellbeing of all animals. Tania has had many rescue pets over the years, and currently has two rescued kittens, a very naughty old Labrador and a Maine Coon cat. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching rugby, boating and classic car cruises.

Charlotte
Veterinary Nurse

Charlotte graduated from Vet Plus in 2018 and joined our team in June 2022. She has a passion for surgical nursing, especially orthopaedics and emergency nursing. Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys going to the gym and spending time with friends and family. Charlotte has one rescue cat who is absolutely adored.

Debbie
Veterinary Nurse

Debbie joined our team in March 2022. She graduated with a Diploma in Vet Nursing in 2003 and has worked for 20 years at a North Shore vet clinic before ours. She is very passionate about veterinary nursing, with a kind heart and gentle approach when it comes to patient care. Debbie has two wonderful young Burmese cats called Pearl and Opam, who love being in the garden with her. She also enjoys time with the family and has always loved the beach and swimming.

Esther
Student Veterinary Nurse

Esther joined the team in the beginning of 2021. She is currently pursuing her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing with Unitec and will graduate in November 2022. Esther loves every aspect of veterinary nursing with an increased interest in radiographics, surgical nursing and hospital care. With three rescued animals of her own (Suki, Eden and Phoebo) she has a soft spot for rescued pets and to hear their stories.

Tia
Student Veterinary Nurse

Tia joined the team as a Junior Veterinary Nurse in June 2021. She has always had a heart for animals and absolutely loves working with them. After venturing into various animal fields she found her way to CareVets Oratia. She is currently studying at Vet Nurse Plus working towards her Veterinary Nursing Diploma. In her spare time, Tia enjoys horse riding, cuddling her cat (Sylvester) and relaxing with her family and friends.
