Amanda
Clinic Coordinator / Veterinary Nurse

Amanda has been working as a Veterinary Nurse for the last 8 years on Waiheke Island, Kos (Greece), Tauranga and now at CareVets Hobsonville since the clinic opened in 2020. She graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from Unitec in 2019. Amanda has an SPCA dog named Yogi, a Flemish Giant named Spike and an old tortoishell cat, Pippi. Amanda is originally from Riverhead and has enjoyed returning to the area and meeting the clients and pets in Hobsonville and surrounding areas. In her spare time Amanda and Yogi can be found strolling on Muriwai or trail running in the Riverhead Forest.

Catherine
Veterinary Nurse

Catherine comes from a varied working background where she worked for many years in the travel industry, IRD and lastly as a criminal case manager at Auckland District Court before deciding to further her study and train to be a Vet Nurse. She is the proud fur-mother to 3 male cats and is a firm believer in animal welfare and their right to have access to the best of care. She enjoys cross stitch, travelling to new places, baking, and watching documentaries, mostly about serial killers and world disasters. Coffee is her God.

Tia
Veterinary Nurse

Tia has always had a passion for animals and has worked in a variety of animal related fields until she found her interest in the veterinary world. She completed her first year in the Veterinary Nursing Diploma in 2022 and is looking forward to completing the course in 2023. She enjoys looking after hospital patients and strives to give pets the best care and attention they need while in the veterinary clinic. She also enjoys surgery and assisting the veterinarian. Outside of the clinic, Tia loves relaxing at home with her family, cuddles with her cat Sylvester, horse riding, and travel with her friends.

Amy
Veterinary Nurse Assistant

Amy has always had a strong love for animals, influenced by her upbringing among working dogs. After completing her first year of veterinary nursing studies, she’s eager to complete her second year and enter the Veterinary world full time. Amy has a keen interest in animal behaviour and rehabilitation while aiming to provide fear-free nursing care for animals in the clinic. During her spare time, outside of the clinic and studies, Amy enjoys spending time with her dogs Marli & Shelby, going to the beach or forest, playing sports or snuggling up to read a good book.

Jonathan
Kennel Hand

Jonathan has recently joined the team as a kennel assistant. He is looking at studying veterinary nursing next year and has a long-term goal of becoming a veterinary surgeon. Jonathan enjoys all aspects of being involved in the clinic but has a particular interest in surgical cases. In his spare time you will find Jonathan out enjoying his motorbike.
