Our Team:
Tarien qualified in 2010 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She immigrated to New Zealand in 2019 and quickly found herself at home at CareVets in Oratia. Tarien has a special interest in general surgery and procedures.
Tracey is the Clinic Coordinator at CareVets Oratia and a qualified veterinary nurse. Her career with CareVets began in 1994, with time spent at the Te Atatū and Mt Wellington branches before joining the Oratia team in 2025.
She is dedicated to making every client’s visit as smooth and stress-free as possible, offering support and advice along the way.
At home in the Waitākere Ranges, Tracey shares life with a collection of much-loved pets — and one husband! She is also active in cat rescue and regularly takes part in Rock Vets trips to Niue, helping to care for the island’s animals.
With over 20 years of nursing experience, Erin is a dedicated senior veterinary nurse with a special interest in anaesthetics and complex care cases. She is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care and ensuring every patient feels comfortable and supported.
At home, Erin shares life with her two dogs — a beloved senior Italian Greyhound and a lively Irish Terrier — along with four cats. Outside of work, she enjoys DIY projects, gardening, pottery, and baking.
Daniel has spent most of his life working with large animals, but made the switch to small animal care two years ago and hasn’t looked back. He brings a calm, experienced presence to the clinic and enjoys building trust with both pets and their owners.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys playing guitar and snowboarding whenever he gets the chance.
Debbie joined our team in March 2022. She graduated with a Diploma in Vet Nursing in 2003 and has worked for 20 years at a North Shore vet clinic before ours. She is very passionate about veterinary nursing, with a kind heart and gentle approach when it comes to patient care. Debbie has two wonderful young Burmese cats called Pearl and Opam, who love being in the garden with her. She also enjoys time with the family and has always loved the beach and swimming.
Esther joined the team in the beginning of 2021. Esther loves every aspect of veterinary nursing with an increased interest in radiographics, surgical nursing and hospital care. With three rescued animals of her own (Suki, Eden and Phoebo) she has a soft spot for rescued pets and to hear their stories.
