Our Team:
Abdullah graduated in 2015 in Turkey and spent his first 5 years of practice in a small animal referral hospital. After completing his master’s degree in Turkey he immigrated to New Zealand and has no intention to go back home! Abdullah has been practising as a Kiwi Veterinarian since passing the challenging New Zealand registration exam in April 2021. His areas of interest are small animal internal medicine and new pharmacological developments that science keeps feeding us every day. He enjoys every minute of taking care of animals, especially cats since they seem to have some kind of mysterious power over humanity!
Sophia has been working in companion animal clinics in New Zealand since graduating in 2013. There she has provided care for various companion animal species with her main focus on dogs and cats. Sophia finds it wonderful working with owners to give their pets great healthcare and see the love people have for their pets. Her particular interests include medicine, dentistry and pain management in older pets. Her life outside of the clinic is occupied by numerous pets, three children and various projects around the home, especially the never-finished garden.
Brianna has always had a special affiliation with animals. She worked within the Zoo industry from the age of 14, then straight out of school studied zookeeping before moving on 8 years later to study Veterinary Nursing and taking on a Vet Nurse role. She has since changed focus into the administration side of the industry. Brianna enjoys triaging patients, discussing nutrition and seeing your fur babies grow each time they get to visit. Her hobbies outside of work include spending time with her dog, rabbit, family and friends as well as exploring New Zealand and the world.
Fiona has been in the Veterinary industry for over 20 years. She is still thoroughly enjoying the profession and still gets to learn new things every day. Her special interests are puppy preschool and she hopes to learn more about animal behaviour. Fiona’s hobbies are spending time with her family and friends as well as enjoying quality time with her own pets. Over the last couple of years she has become obsessed with tropical fish keeping!
Maddie has recently completed her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and has come to us with a wealth of enthusiasm and eagerness to care for your pets. Maddie loves getting to know the fur babies that come in including learning their individual personalities. Maddie spends her spare time riding and training her horse, and spending time with her family and friends. Maddie looks forward to meeting the puppies and kittens for vaccinations as well as looking after the surgical patients that come in before, during and after their surgery.
Matt is passionate about helping animals and hates seeing them suffer. He wants to help animals thrive in life and improve animal well-being. Matt’s favourite animal is a cat; his favourite type of patient is a hospital patient where he gets to take care of pets by administering treatment and monitoring for any changes. When not working Matt enjoys cooking vegan food, spending time with pets (especially cats) and playing games with friends. You will see Matt both when coming in for a consultation and when dropping off or picking up an animal for surgery.
Emily has a passion for the Veterinary industry and is yet to dive into studying Veterinary Nursing. She recently started working with The Vet Centre Pukekohe and already has a reputation for taking home tiny kittens that need a new home! Her favourite part of working with The Vet Centre Pukekohe is the awesome people she gets to work with, meeting cute, fluffy animals and making animals feel more comfortable while in clinic. Emily’s hobbies include spending time with her family and animals and she looks forward to seeing you soon.
Devon has come with a range of knowledge including being in a retail setting as well as previously working in a vet clinic and being a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. Devon has a love for the cute and fluffy puppies and kittens as well as the older or more reserved patients that come to see us here at The Vet Centre Pukekohe. She is the friendly face and bubbly personality you will see when you come in to the clinic or speak to her on the phone. Devon cant wait to meet your fluffy, furry, scaley, feathered friends.
Jenna has undertaken a change in career joining The Vet Centre Pukekohe as Clinic Administrator, following a career in business support and management to pursue her dream of working with animals. Jenna has recently completed study in dog care, dog psychology and training and is enjoying getting to know you and your furry companions. Jenna’s passion for animals and strong customer care is a welcome addition to our front desk and team. Jenna has a White Swiss Shepherd who she intends to breed to expand knowledge on this exceptional and rare breed in New Zealand, in conjunction with opening a rural based cattery with her husband and two sons.
